The Wilbury Group Announces World Premiere of DESTEFANO ON THE AIR

The Wilbury Group has announced the world premiere of Destefano on the Air!, a hilarious new radio by Providence playwright Cyrus Leddy, April 12-22 at 95 Empire Street, formerly home of the Perishable Theater.
Directed by Providence based theatre artist and longtime Wilbury Group collaborator Bobby Casey (Exit the King, We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay!), Destefano on the Air! follows "the hilarious and warped radio host and aspiring shock-jock Mischel Barry in his struggle to put on the edgiest podcast he can, with disastrous results."
Featuring playwright Cyrus Leddy (Wilbury Group sound designer and curator behind Providence's ever popular late-night radio series Breathing Tube), the team behind Destefano on the Air! includes Wilbury Group favorites Joe Ouellette, Clare Blackmer, and Brien Lang, as well as newcomers Mark Gray (Oedipus Rex at Poorman Productions) and Kerry Callery (Festen at The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre), making for one of our most hilarious collaborations to date. Under the direction of Robert Casey Jr., Destefano on the Air! pushes the boundaries of the traditional radio play from the foley artists' opening to the final curtain.
